Edgartown Lighthouse from the water

While on our 2011 trip to Martha's Vineyard we took a cruise on a small cabin cruiser and I got a shot of the Edgartown Lighthouse from the water on our way out to the bay. Here is a pic of the two of us on the boat.

Die you snow scum

The first pretty snow of the season, you are all happy and smiley and then it is March 15th and there is still snow hanging around. This is the last snow on our property and good riddance and take the damn snowman with you....

With Spring Break starting to warm up the beaches, the crowds are showing up on Ocean Drive in South Beach.

Back to the 50's

Sometimes you turn a corner and wonder if you just time warped into another era. Had that experience in the commuter terminal of the Cincinnati airport. Does this remind you of your high school bathroom or what?

Santa Barbara Pano

Santa Barbara panoramic shot taken from the top of the Santa Barbara historical society building, located at the pier. Wonderful view of the surrounding area from the observing station.

New Orleans United Fruit Company

I like these old architectural highlights and flourishes that you find on old buildings. Just at a glance you know the building was completed in 1920 and it was for the United Fruit Company. I don't think those  splotches of green were supposed to be there.

Redondo Beach Morning Exercise

Saw this scene while out for a morning jog. That looks like more fun than a run along the Strand.

San Gabriel Mountains

We were headed for San Dimas, California where I really wanted a picture of San Dimas High for Bill and Ted purposes, but I got this shot instead. Not what I was going for but a nice trade-off none-the-less. That peak in the distance is probably Mount San Antonio at 10,064 ft, but I can't tell for sure. Quite beautiful. 

Blue Sunrise

West coast sunrises come from over the mountains towards the water so you often get a blue tint over the water as the sun climbs over. Makes for a pretty view, in this case, of the Palos Verdes area in the background from Redondo Beach.

Lone Tree

Whenever I see a lone tree, I get a very artistic feeling. This tree is just hanging on a cliff looking over the Pacific Ocean in Palos Verdes. Beautiful location.

Love it when I get a tree silhouetted on the sky. Makes for a dramatic shot, or so I hope. This is near Palos Verdes on the Pacific Ocean.
