Stong Colors: In Food

Yes, please. From a wedding that I shot way back in 2012. (Yes, I shoot weddings. They are just so hard and stressful, that I don't put that out there. Plus, I really want to charge $10,000 a wedding because with all the training that I have had and work that I have put in, I am worth that much. But I will only shoot for friends and family so I don't charge anything. One of my instructors just laughs as he has never seen anyone spend as much as I do to make nothing. Oh well, just one of those things in life that doesn't make sense.)

Anyway, just looking at this shot of pastries will give you 500 calories. You're welcome.

Strong Colors: Puerto Rico Red

I saw in the news that Puerto Rico cut a deal with its creditors today so I thought I would post some strong colors from the island. Love visiting Puerto Rico. Great culture. Great food. Friendly people and lots of complicated history to explore. Oh yea, the beaches are nice too. Hope to be back one day as a tourist to show my family Old San Juan, the fort of Castillo San Felipe del Morro and the forest of El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the US National Park System.

Strong Colors: Tulips

If you want strong colors, hard to make a mistake in a field of Tulip bulbs.

White-Throated Sparrow and Dark-eyed Junco

I am concentrating on colors this winter of no travel from pictures in my back catalog. But this little winter visitor has color to him. Hard to miss those yellow racing stripes along its forehead. I would have named this the Yellow Racing Striped Sparrow but the book says, White Throated Sparrow instead. Hello? Can't you see the yellow? That is the strongest identifier. Sparrows are tough. There are a lot of types and they are hard to identify. This one was easy. I also have some poses with the Dark-eye Junco, another winter visitor to the feeder. So, two birds that a year ago I never heard of before. Now they are in my backyard. Pretty cool.

Strong Colors: Orange M's

There is a lot of white out those windows so I don't think you are going to see a lot of Orange today. So, here is some Orange M's for you. From the M&M shop in Times Square New York. With those rents, I wonder how many of the tourist trap shops in New York survived the crisis? We shall see...one day.

Strong Colors: In the Window

Walked by a window in a restaurant in Santa Barbara if I recall and saw this nice window, full of color. So of course, I had to shoot it.

Strong Colors -- Valentine's Day edition

Never been to a place more tricked out for Valentine's Day than the famous Madonna Inn along Route 1 in San Luis Obispo, California. I don't know if it is like this all year as I stopped here for an overnight stay in late January back in 2009. That year I set up meetings in San Francisco the first week and LA in the second and I did a weekend ride down Route 1 from San Francisco to LA. Definitely would like to do that trip again. Each room at the Inn is very different. I stayed in the Rock Room, which was built right in to the rock face along the cliff. Quite fun. What is a Rock Room? Here it is:

Strong Colors: Colored Strand of Lights

A little studio play with a string of lights out of focus in the background makes this a nice colorful riff.

Strong Colors--Guitars in Red Light

In Roanoke, Virgina of all places. I would have guessed Nashville, but since I was there and took the shot, I would have been wrong. This is a music shop in downtown Roanoke.

Strong Colors -- Red, White, Blue

How about a bit of the old red, white and blue for some strong colors? Took this shot on Navy Pier from a window display.
