New York From on High

Got lucky on the seat selection so I could see downtown Manhattan, Freedom Tower, the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and even the Statue of Liberty way in the background.

Ok, that's a weird one

Bring the old sex shop out of the darkness and into the light and people will visit. What a concept.

So Many Choices

When you are on an expense account in New York city the problem is that you have so many choices. For example, Papaya Dog or Little Italy Pizza. Which to choose?

Same Shot (sort of), 10 Years Later

We were so lucky to have Michael come in from Portland in preparation for a wedding and everyone was up to reprise their pose from a photo we took back in 2006 in Florence. So, much fun getting the 4 principals in the right pose and the two extras photobombing in the background.

Georgia State Capitol

Caught this view on the way to the airport in Atlanta of the Georgia State Capitol building. The timing was a beautiful sunrise just behind me, lighting the building up just enough. Not much time to see anything in Atlanta, as always, but nice to get one shot in.

This face so cute it could break the Internet

I really think this kid could break the internet if he tried. Just so damn cute.

Seattle trees ready to party

Walking back from a Seattle Mariners ballgame back in August and came across this square that seemed ready to host a party. Maybe on the weekend but no one around to party that night.

Seattle Street Scene

Fun street scene in Seattle in an open square in the downtown area. Lots of kid and adult games around.

Safeco Field Pole-to-Pole

Forgot to post my Safeco Field Pole-to-Pole shot from a game I attended in August. Love to see stadiums when at least the bottom bowl is mostly sold out. Beautiful night for baseball. This is the 13th stadium that I have been able to shoot the pole-to-pole shot.

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience

Evan William Bourbon an appropriate Shot of the Day for a Saturday night. Got to visit the small scale factory on the old Bourbon Street in Louisville. Learned a bunch about whiskey manufacturing and enjoyed a few sips at the end of the tour. An excellent time in old Louisville.

Louisville Slugger and Baseball Museum

Samsung pano of the baseball museum in Louisville. A tourist trap but a nice one. Definitely recommend a stop if you ever get in town. Plus it is located on the old Bourbon Row. The city wants to reestablish a street with Bourbon manufacturers. Right now, they have one sort of factory/tasting facility with the Evan Williams brand.

Louisville Street Scene

My cousin, Anthony Crimmins anchors this Louisville Street Scene at a random street fare that we were lucky to visit. This was a science and technology fare and it was fun seeing the kids (and adults) play with the various tech exhibits as it was a very hands-on event.

Louisville Downtown

Nice colorful group of buildings in downtown Louisville caught my eye in a weekend trip to this fun city.

Cleveland View

Love the colors and architecture of these old buildings. This shot is from a walk around in Cleveland earlier in the year.

Reflection Competition

Back in 2012 I was able to take a cruise with members of Cheryl's family. Great time on a trip that none of us will ever forget. So much fun. I saw my reflection in a friend's glasses and took the shot with other friends and family sitting around. Recently, I submitted this shot in a contest on reflections and bested 55,000 other entries, getting into the top 10. Not bad for a throw-away shot. I am sure the bikinis in the background helped more than the picture of me.

Looking out a hotel window---and I had to work

Sometimes out the hotel window you get air conditioning units. Sometimes you get golf courses like I did back in June in Indian Wells, California. However, when you have to go to work the air conditioner view is better than the tease of a beautiful golf course that you don't get to play.

View down the Chicago River

Lots of new construction along the western portion of the Chicago River. The view from this new building looking down the river has to be amazing. Plus no building can be built to block your view. Anyone have an extra million so we can pick up a condo?

Cleveland Progressive Field Pole to Pole

It was a terrible game as James Shields, the White Sox pitcher had a terrible outing earlier this year and was out of the game by the 2nd inning. However, I was able to let the sun set a bit and get a picture of Progressive Field to add another stadium to the Pole-to-Pole series.

Stephie's yard--with a "scary" filter added

What a beautiful, unique yard. Of course, it is much more fun with a scary filter added....

Columbia River Valley View

View from a hike above Horsetail Falls overlooking the Columbia River Valley. If I lived out there, I would hike these hills every weekend. What great exercise and what a great payoff when you get to the top. Beautiful views.

Kansas Green Checkerboard

Green checkerboard on a flight a couple of weeks ago from Portland to Chicago. I don't know if I was over Kansas or not, but it could have been. Won't be this green for long but a nice green checkerboard showing up for late summer.
