Baltimore Inner Harbor Barnes and Noble Power Plant
Love that the city of Baltimore chose to repurpose this old power plant building instead of tearing it down. It now anchors an area near the waterfront museums that brings in the tourists. Hopefully, they stop by to purchase a book every once in awhile. This view, taken with my Galaxy phone, is from a brokerage office located across the street.

Baltimore Red Bar
This shot would have been perfect for my "red" series. No drinks were served during this Baltimore lunch meeting, but quite the view with all the red showing.

Baltimore O's Pano
This is another in my ballpark Pano series. This time out, the Baltimore Oriole's beautiful stadium. Chris Sale was on the bump so the White Sox won the first of two in this traditional doubleheader.

Baltimore Inner Harbor from Federal Hill
Baltimore may have been the site of some recent riots, but the area around the Inner Harbor is undeniably beautiful and a draw for tourist and locals. This view is from the top of Federal Hill, an area of encampment during the civil war.

Baltimore Barnes and Noble
One of my favorite bookstore locations in my travels is the Barnes and Noble at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. They built it in an old power plant and left some of the architectural elements inside the building. Great way to keep an old building alive.

Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Stadium
Happy Memorial Day weekend. I love my Chicago Blackhawks but the Tampa Bay Lightning put on a wonderful pregame show before their home hockey games. I consider the Blackhawk's Jim Cornelian singing the national anthem a must-see. Tampa's show is also up there with great lighting effects. Hockey has it going on right now.

Petco Park Overhead Shot and Pano
This overhead shot is from the Marriott Gaslight, which is across from the stadium and has a wonderful rooftop bar with a beautiful view. Decided to go on down and get a ticket and a patron walking in gave me a free ticket. Pretty cool. The pano below is from that seat.

International Day for Biodiversity
The United Nations has declared today the International Day for Biodiversity. You are supposed to go out and identify local flower and fauna and take pictures and send them into National Geographic as part of their Great Nature Project, which runs until May 25th. I'm in!!! This is a costal scrubland area at Torrey Pines State Park which I visited last month.

Merrill Lynch San Diego 3D Effect
Merrill Lynch building in San Diego reflects the building across the street, giving a strange 3D effect to the reflection.

A Mother's Day Concert
William and Clio decided to treat us to a Mother's Day concert. Has a new tradition been born?
Plus, I need to include a second shot. Hey, its my blog and I can break the rules when I want.

Happy Mother's Day
Family shot circa March 2015. Hard to get everyone together nowadays with Jono and Sam in Cleveland (soon Chicago!!) and Michael in New York (soon Portland!!!), but we got it done on Cheryl's birthday in March. Thought the shot looked painterly, so I add a painting touch....Happy Mother's Day.

Heads on a Wall
Sure are a lot of heads on the wall in this taxidermy shop in Portland. So, I thought I would throw my head up there too....

Wicked Torrey Pines
I posted a similar shot in color a couple of days ago but when I looked at this shot, I saw this version. This is what I should have posted earlier in the week. These Torrey Pines look pretty scary.

Moon over Prickly Pear Cactus
The title says it all. Caught the late afternoon moon hovering over the Prickly Pear Cactus in the Torrey Pines State Park.

A jumble of Torrey Pines
Torrey Pines, the tree, not the golf course, sure make a jumbled mess. These trees live in extreme conditions along the coast in San Diego. Very dry, sandy conditions. I wouldn't want to walk through them.

Redwoods are really, really red
There is no better name than Redwoods for these trees. These trees are really, really red. Beautiful trees.

Backlit Evergreen
Too bad you can't smell the aroma in the area around these evergreen trees. Overwhelming feel of Christmas in Portland in the spring.

May 1st Spring is Finally Here
Finally, the flowers and trees are blooming. April is really the cruelest month. The calendar says spring. The weather...not so much.
