Fall colors in Ohio
Getting an early blast of winter on Halloween but 2 weeks ago in Ohio still was a beautiful fall day with lots of yellows and greens, maybe with a little touch of red. The morning hike caught the sun's rays coming through the trees in Cuyahoga National Park.

Fall Colors in Ohio #2
The leaves were still mostly yellow and green last week in Ohio but the views were still amazing. Leaves light up when you put the sun behind them and darken the frame a bit. This is from Michael's and my trip to Cuyahoga National Park outside of Cleveland.

Cuyohoga National Park Scenic Railroad
We weren't able to take this train through Cuyahoga National Park but it is supposed to be a beautiful way to see the park. Cuyahoga is a very long park and the train takes its time covering the area in 3.5 hours out-and-back. Cuyahoga isn't one of my favorite national parks, but it is only one of 8 NPs in the midwest so worth a visit. We did get to see several waterfalls and enjoy a few nice hikes but I think Starved Rock State Park in Illinois, for example, has much better waterfalls (although a lot smaller than Cuyahoga NP). Anyway, great place to spend a day or two if you are into waterfalls and hiking.

Fall Colors in Ohio
Shot this on my walk with Michael Jr and cousin Emily and friend in Cuyahoga National Park. Caught the peak bloom or close to it. Threw on a photo filter because, “why not?”

Lake Erie Sunset
Just a half mile away from Jono and Sam's place is Lakewood Park which gives this wonderful view of the lake and the chance to see some nice sunsets. Michael and I got to see this great sunset this past weekend.

Holland, Michigan
Another shot from a trip earlier this year. Took a weekend visit to Holland, Michigan and was very impressed with the downtown area. Some great craft beer breweries and shops to visit. Missed the peak of the famous tulip festival, but enjoyed the visit, nonetheless.

St Alphonsus Church in Lakeview
I was meeting Nina and the family in Lakeview earlier this year and stepped into Saint Alphonsus Church and just wow. It is a beautiful church on the outside but the inside is just marvelous. This church apparently has German and Polish (of course) roots and is still very popular for its Octoberfest celebration. When I walked in, I didn't expect to see so much blue. I am sure it is super popular for weddings but it will take over 1,000 people to fill it up so you better have a big wedding planned.

Jousting at the Bristol Renaissance Faire
A little filter play with a shot of a knight in shiny armor jousting at the Bristol Renaissance Faire this past summer.
