Naperville, Illinois--City of Murals
One of the biggest murals in downtown Naperville is right on Washington and Maple, the main intersection of our town. The building houses The Lantern, a bar that has basically stayed the same since I went to college in the late 1970's in nearby Lisle, Illinois. The Lantern has been owned by the same family for over 50 years and the bar inside hasn't changed much as the city has continued to change and grow around it. Other bars come and go and the Lantern remains, mostly unchanged. I think I have only been in the establishment twice, once back in the late 70's and only once since we started living here 20+ years ago. I should give it at least another visit.
