It was early April 2019 and the weather was nice enough for a sunset walk, even though on the ground, not much of Spring is through showing yet. Looking forward to a similar walk soon.

I was wondering when I would see my first Robin this year. Happened this weekend but that was because I was out doing some birding for the Great American Backyard Bird Count, which was held around the country this past weekend. The job is to go out and count birds for at least 15 minutes and record what you see on eBird, an app on your phone. Not sure what species you are seeing? Then you can use Merlin, another app, to help ID the bird. And, you don't have to just watch for birds in your backyard. The app will pick up your location no matter where you are. Anyway, this bird and about 20 of his mates were hanging around a berry tree for some late winter snacks. No worms on the menu just yet. I hadn't any great pictures of an American Robin as of yet as they are so common. This bird gave me a nice composition as most Robins that I see are see are on the ground, which is not a great picture. Anyway, saw this one and then today, I saw another Robin on a tree in front of the house this afternoon--so that really counts. There Heralds of Spring are here!!!
I have to admit that I love New York in the Spring. It is a tough city to handle in the winter and like lots of places, it can be hot and stuffy in the summer. But springtime in the city is wonderful. This shot is from a trip back in 2019. Amazing how much things have changed since then but this location looks the same. Annual rebirth and death in one shot.
Just a wonderful scene of the Cherry Blossoms in bloom on the mall in Washington DC and another photographer enjoying the views and taking pictures. She became the focus of my shot.
According to Google, this is a Kentia Palm so I will go with that. Shot it in the Spring of 2012 when visiting the island of Puerto Rico for a work trip. Love visiting Puerto Rico. Great people. Great history and culture and amazing food!!! Can't wait to go back again.
It was a little dreary day in NYC back in April of 2011 but the tulips were in bloom in the downtown area. This actually wasn't all the far from the World Trade Center, which is where I think I was headed that morning. Still, the colors were there and Spring was in the air.
Looks like I am chasing the Cherry Blossoms around the country. These are spring blossoms from one of the parks in New York City, taken in 2011.
The economy is reopening, slowly, once again. More people are getting out and about as the Omicron wave starts to wind down. Can't happen fast enough. So, I thought in February, I would look for shots that were taken in Spring or have a Spring-like theme. These are Japanese Cherry Trees that I saw back in 2010 in Dallas on a beautiful Spring day. With snow on the ground in Chicago and especially on the east coast this week, hope to see a day like this again soon.
