This is a shot of San Francisco taken from Colt Tower near sunrise in 2012. I was still shooting with the wonderful Nikon D700. It was a very overcast day and a boring shot of an overcast sky with an almost black and white city (see the original shot below). So, I played with the contrast and some filters and one filter made the sky really pop. Now the city looks sort of black and white on purpose with all the buildings of a similar color design. As a result of the editing, I took what was a throwaway shot and made it into one of my favorites. Whenever I see this picture, I remember not to throw away shots so quickly. Sometimes you can find gold in those San Francisco hills. The original shot is here below:
