Pre-Eclipse Moon
Unfortunately, I missed the full eclipse this evening, but I do like this pre-eclipse shot of the moon rising over the Sonoran Desert between Phoenix and Tucson. Got a nice shot through the clouds...
And a third shot post full eclipse as the full moon was coming back into view. I missed the blood red phase where the light from the sun gets refracted around and through the Earth's atmosphere giving the moon that red glow. The colors are also impacted by the amount of particulates in the air from pollution or volcanic activity. Well, I hope to get another chance on the next lunar eclipse which won't happen until May of 2021 and a better one in May of 2022. Oh well. Bummed.
