Early morning walk in Gilbert, Arizona last week got me a close up of an American Wigeon, a relatively common duck, but a new one for me. I don't know what the water was doing but I loved the reflections. This was taken at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert which is an area of 7 lakes being used to reclaim water naturally, without having to excessively treat it, as the water gets turned over to nature to do the job. In the meantime, hundreds of water fowl and other birds love the area and I got lots of great shots of water birds in dry Arizona, of all places. Who knew? Wonderful place to visit.
