Took advantage of terrible lighting at dawn to get a silhouette of some sandhill cranes gathering for their flight north to Canada. The birds gather in huge flocks along the Platte River in Nebraska and take off for their final leg from Florida or other points south as the head north to their breeding grounds. Quite a site to see and glad my trip to Denver gave me the chance to pass through during this annual event.
